Fear and Loathing
Conversing with Isaac about content for this site:
Myself: I find myself fighting for content.
Isaac Bowen: do some strange things
Isaac Bowen: get arrested
Isaac Bowen: etc
…
Isaac Bowen: yeah. an arrest is probably your best bet.
Oh, words from the wise.
In some recent free time, I managed to finally finish Fear and Loathing by Hunter S. Thompson. It was quite a strange novel and I felt myself searching for some sort of direction, coherent logic, purpose, etc. Wikipedia describes it as,
“The book is a roman à clef, rooted in autobiographical incidents. The story follows its protagonist, Raoul Duke, and his attorney, Dr. Gonzo, as they descend on Las Vegas to chase the American Dream through a drug-induced haze.”
I had to google wikipedia a few drugs as I am not up on the whole drug scene (mescaline and adrenochrome come to the top of my head). I have read gonzo journalism can be traced to its direct origin of an article by Hunter S. Thompson about the Kentucky Derby being described as such. He seems a fascinating guy, and I am looking forward to reading more about him.
- Cap’n Matt: I’m looking forward to discussing this book with you.
- Kyle: You should read it if you have some spare time.
Also, I have never made a new years resolution (approximately 27 days into the year), but this year it will be more content. I promise this now.
Some photos I’ve taken in the last month:
